A Little Lionhearted: Baby Boy’s Fresh 48 at UT Medical Center

There’s something so special about those first quiet hours with a brand-new baby—the sleepy stretches, tiny fingers, sweet little expressions, and the way new parents can’t stop staring at their newest love. This sweet baby boy’s Fresh 48 session at University of Tennessee Medical Center captured all of those little moments beautifully.

With Mom and Dad right there beside him, this little guy was already surrounded by so much love. From his tiny details to the peaceful moments spent cuddled up with his parents, these photographs tell the story of the very beginning of his life and the joy that came with welcoming him into the world.


Surrounded by so much love, this little guy was already settling into his new role as the newest member of the family. His session included his own adorable stuffed lion, adding the sweetest little touch of personality to his portraits. 🦁

But some of my favorite details were the sentimental pieces brought along for his session—a beautiful family heirloom gown and a monogrammed blanket. These meaningful items added so much heart to his photographs and helped tell a story that goes beyond simply documenting how tiny he was. They connected his first days to the family and traditions that came before him.


The Beauty of a Fresh 48 Session

Fresh 48 photography is all about preserving the moments that happen during those first 48 hours after birth—before the newborn stage begins to change so quickly. These aren't posed studio portraits. They're authentic photographs of your brand-new baby exactly as he is: tiny, sleepy, brand new, and already so loved. For this family, that meant documenting their first moments together at University of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville, from sweet baby details to the connection between Mom, Dad, and their new little boy.
