In-Home Newborn Photography in the Knoxville, TN Area | A Sweet NICU Graduate

Some sessions mean a little more, and this sweet boy’s in-home newborn session was definitely one of them. 🤍

I had been talking with his mama for quite some time before I finally got to meet them in person, and throughout those conversations, I found myself thinking about them and sending all the good thoughts their way. This little guy decided to make his arrival earlier than expected, and after spending time in the NICU, his journey to coming home was something we were all looking forward to. I was originally hired to do his Fresh 48 session at UT Medical Center, but he decided to come at his own pace and changed our plans.

When I heard that he was doing well and was finally able to come home, I was SO happy for them! There is something incredibly special about finally getting to bring your baby home after a start to life that looks a little different than you imagined. I couldn't wait to meet this little fighter and help his mama preserve these precious first memories together.

A Sweet Boy With a Big Story

For this in-home newborn photography session, we kept things simple and focused mostly on this handsome little guy. With just mama and baby, we were able to slow down, enjoy the moment, and capture all those tiny details that change far too quickly during the newborn stage.

One of my favorite parts of this session was incorporating some of his hospital bracelets and notes into a few of his images. Those little keepsakes tell such an important part of his story. They are reminders of just how far he has already come and how much love surrounded him from the very beginning.

These aren't just photographs of a newborn baby. They are little pieces of his journey, documenting a chapter his family will always remember. Years from now, these images will help mama look back on those early days and remember just how tiny he was, how strong he was, and how grateful she was to finally have him home.

He Was an Absolute Champ!

Despite everything this little guy had already been through, he was such a champ during his session! He did so well, and I loved getting to photograph his sweet little features, tiny fingers and toes, and all those fleeting newborn details.

In-home newborn sessions are some of my favorites because there is no need to pack up everything and travel to a studio with a brand-new baby. We can photograph your little one in the comfort of home, taking our time and following baby's lead. Whether that means stopping for a cuddle, taking a break, or simply soaking up the quiet moments together, there is room for it all.

Especially for families who have had an unexpected or stressful start to their newborn journey, having a relaxed session at home can make documenting these memories feel a little easier.

More Than Just a Photo Session

One of the things I love most about being a newborn photographer is that I get to connect with families during some of the most meaningful seasons of their lives. Sometimes, that connection begins long before I ever pick up my camera.

Getting to talk with this sweet boy's mama throughout his journey made finally meeting her in person that much more special. I had been hoping and cheering for them from afar, and being able to photograph her beautiful baby boy after hearing that he was home and doing well was such a wonderful feeling.

I genuinely care about the families I photograph, and that doesn't stop when a session is booked or a gallery is delivered. These little people and their stories matter to me, and getting to be a small part of preserving those stories is something I never take for granted.

This sweet boy has already shown so much strength, and I hope his mama always looks at these photographs and remembers this time with so much love.

Welcome home, little man! You are already so loved. 🤍
